Mentoring
Beginning your certification training with Pro-EFW is an exciting step, not only in your professional development but also in your personal journey within the world of Equine Facilitated Wellness. As you deepen your understanding of the unique partnership between humans and horses, mentoring offers a supportive space to learn, reflect, and grow.
Mentorship is designed to help you feel connected, encouraged, and guided as you develop your skills and confidence. Whether you are new to EFW or expanding your existing practice, mentors help bridge learning with real-world experience. They provide insight, share knowledge, and offer encouragement as you explore your own authentic approach to working alongside horses in a wellness and learning environment.
Your mentoring experience is meant to be collaborative, supportive, and responsive to your individual learning path. It is a space where questions are welcomed, challenges can be explored safely, and successes can be celebrated as you continue building competence, clarity, and confidence throughout your certification and beyond.
Why is Mentoring Required?
Mentoring hours are designed to support certification candidates as they begin integrating EFW into their professional practice. This is a valuable opportunity to learn alongside experienced professionals who bring extensive knowledge in EFW, equines, mental health, and learning. Mentorship helps build confidence, deepen understanding, and support your growth as you develop your skills.
How Can Mentoring Help?
Mentors are here to walk alongside you throughout your certification journey. They provide guidance, answer questions, and offer support as you move through the certification process. Many candidates also find mentorship helpful after certification when navigating new or complex situations within their practice.
How Many Mentoring Hours Are Required?
A minimum of 10 mentoring hours is required, with the option to complete additional hours if you or your Pro-EFW trainer feel they would benefit your learning and development. Mentoring sessions can be completed with a certified Pro-EFW Mentor, including trainers or Pro-EFW certified mentors who specialize in areas where you would like additional support.
At least 4 of the required 10 hours must be completed with your Pro-EFW Trainer:
